Curriculum Demonstration: A lot is changing with special education curriculum and the alternate assessment. The requirements for reading, writing, and science are evolving and what used to be commonplace practices in autism and self-contained classrooms has now been eclipsed by new practices and higher expectations. Readtopia and First Author Writing Curriculum make meeting these new expectations possible, and they are both aligned to the STAAR-Alt 2 TEKS. Product Demonstration: The future of AT is starting now, and the focus is about meeting a broad range of student needs so they can successfully access the curriculum. It goes beyond physical inclusion to 1) identify needs before failure, 2) ensure independence with personalized accommodations, and 3) inform instruction and prove outcomes with data.
