Science TEKS Streamlining for 8th Grade




The State Board of Education (SBOE) adopted streamlined Science TEKS to be implemented during the 2018-2019 school year. In this session, we will take a look at how the Science TEKS have changed, how it will impact instruction, and strategies to address key vocabulary and concepts.

Important Session Information:


This workshop will provide an overview of the new science standards for eighth grade science and includes activities from the TEA's Science Academies for earth and physical science along with other TEKS-based activities. Participants will participate in all the activities first hand and will walk away with electronic copies of 5E lesson plans, hands-on activities, and many instructional ideas to refresh and energize your classroom using the new 8th grade science standards.
