Drawing A Blank: Improving Reading Comprehension for Students with ASD




These trainings will include nationally known speakers as well as local professionals. The trainings will cover a variety of reading issues including comprehension, fluency, strategies, interventions, and research-based practices for students with and without disabilities.

Important Session Information:


Drawing A Blank: Guided Tour is a training based on an extensive study of research on Reading Comprehension. Each participant will receive the book "Drawing A Blank:Improving Reading Comprehension for Students with ASD". The training will focus on readers who decode well but do not understand what they read. Attendees will: 1) Understand how ASD affects comprehension 2) Identify more than 40 skills to teach explicitly 3) Learn evidence-based strategies to help struggling readers.
