Collaborative Engagement in ARD Committee Meetings (for Parents)

These sessions will provide information regarding the facilitated IEP process, a process of using facilitation strategies and skills to move IEP teams through difficult conversations and toward consensus.

Important Session Information:

Parent participation in the education decision making process is a critical factor for student success. A large piece of this process occurs at the ARD Committee meeting. When all IEP Team Members, including parents, are able to use core facilitation skills, the group is able to communicate, plan, and problem solve more effectively, leading to better educational programs and outcomes for students with disabilities. Be better prepared for your child’s next ARD Committee meeting by learning more about core strategies and tools, establishing norms, conflict transformation, group decision making, and more.
