Identifying Homeless Students 201
Share
This workshop is designed for homeless liaisons and other school personnel who have a basic understanding of McKinney-Vento law regarding the education of homeless children and youth. In this workshop, we will delve deeply into scenarios that are based on real life experiences gathered from school district homeless liaisons around the state. Attendees will receive a short update on the McKinney-Vento homelessness definition, but the majority of the time will be spent working in small groups with scenarios. Attendees will gain a greater understanding of how McKinney-Vento applies to specific situations. Attendees are encouraged to bring the challenges they are facing in their own LEA, to work with their peers on resolving the situation.
