Don’t Forget to Move…The Importance of Gross Motor Skills in Preschoolers (am)

All sessions will be geared toward educators and administrators of early learners.  A wide variety of topics will be covered.

Important Session Information:

In an early childhood education program, motor skills (including fine and gross motor) need to be addressed to ensure overall development of the student. Often times teacher naturally spend time developing fine motor skills with writing, coloring, cutting, etc., but gross motor skills often get overlooked, In today’s society with so much screen time, preschoolers also have opportunities to work on fine motor skills by swiping and isolating their forefingers. Less time is spent outside playing which will assist in normal development. This workshop is intended to help Early Childhood teachers identify what gross motor function should look like in their student population and give ideas of motor activities that can be incorporated during the school day.
