Using Theatre Arts to Increase Student Engagement in the Literacy Classroom




Children love to use their imaginations in play, but increased rigor in standards have meant less time at play and more structured time in the classroom. Theatre Art based experiences allow students to use their vivid imaginations and hone presentation skills while helping them meet standards from each of the English language arts domains: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. This workshop will explore fun and creative activities that increase student engagement in Language Arts.
