Unpacking the New ELAR TEKS Grades K-5 (Part 1 of 2)




New ELAR TEKS implementation is effective Fall 2019.

 


Important Session Information:


Are you already deep into the new TEKS or have you not even looked at them yet? That’s ok! This workshop will examine the new ELAR TEKS (grades K-5) by getting you familiar with the seven strands. Teachers will deepen their understanding of the teaching of real literacy as we connect Reading and Writing together to be successful in the embedded style of the new ELAR standards. Part 2 of this workshop (see session title “Digging Deeper into the New ELAR TEKS Part 2 of 2) will cover TEKS Resource System support for the new standards and planning for the first six weeks using the TEKS RS components. Say goodbye to teaching compartmentalized subjects as silos and take charge of the change!
