Science and Literacy: Better Together - Grades K-5




Strategies, reasources, and activities to support K-5 science and literacy.

Important Session Information:


Do you wonder how to incorporate science experiences into your curriculum when your students really need an emphasis on literacy? Science and literacy can easily be integrated as science provides an authentic context for literacy instruction.Before an investigation begins, reading high-interest texts can encourage students' curiosity, raise questions for inquiry, and build background knowledge. After an investigation, students' read to learn more about real-world examples and write to express solutions to problems or to explain their understanding of real-world phenomena. Join us as we engage in science and literacy integration and provide participants with activities, strategies, and resources to incorporate into the K-5 classroom.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
