This training is to enable secondary educational professionals to recognize the signs and symptoms of drug and/or alcohol impairment.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
- Describe the involvement of drugs in schools and society.
- Define the term “drug” in the context of the DITEP course
- Review the signs and symptoms of the seven drug categories
- Outline the important elements of the Texas Education Code, Texas Penal Code, and an effective school policy as they relate to drug and/or alcohol use and possession
- Identify medical condition and other situations that can produce similar signs of impairment and appropriate procedures.
