Decoding and the Emerging Reader (Grades K-1)

Come develop strategies to ensure your emerging readers will establish firm foundations in the subskills that lead to strong decoding and fluent reading.
Important Session Information:
Participants will walk away with immediate strategies and learn the best practices in teaching the subskills that build strong decoders. Learn how to teach phoneme play, letter-sound relationships, encoding, decoding, onset rime, rhyming, and sight word fluency. Participants will learn the most efficient methods for helping young students read developmentally appropriate unfamiliar and multi-syllable words.
