This three-hour training will include:
- a review of statistical data and legislation associated with foster care;
- a closer look at how the education system and the Department of Family and Protective Services work collaboratively together to meet the needs of foster children;
- responsibilities of the school district in identification and service;
- the role of the District Foster Care Liaison; and
- other general resources you can access to be better informed for working with foster children.
Each participating district/co-op will receive a printed copy of TEA's Foster Care & Student Success guide.
