Zones of Regulation (Autism Academies)




A variety of topics will be covered during periodic Autism Academy trainings.

Important Session Information:


This session will review concepts of Leah Kuypers’ regulation program, Zones of Regulation®.Learn how self-regulation typically develops and how to address deficits that may impair self-regulatory issues within the classroom. A deep-dive into the curriculum will provide strategies to help students become more aware of and independent in controlling their emotions and impulses, managing their sensory needs, engaging in social awareness, and improving their executive functioning. You’ll see how the zones can be incorporated for individuals or how it can be used as a school-wide practice. Zones of Regulation® also incorporates principles of Social Thinking®, which will be highlighted for use especially for students on the Autism Spectrum. This is not a Zones of Regulation®-sponsored training, so we have the opportunity to offer this as a make-and-take session.You’ll leave equipped with knowledge and practices to promote self-regulation and resources for your classroom based on student need.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
