Let's Give Them Something To To Talk About! Math Talks For Grades K-2 A Canvas Course for Making Meaningful Math Discourse June 1-July 24, 2020

In order to be successful mathematicians students must be able to do more than produce an answer, they need to develop the skills to problem solve, reason, and justify and to do so fluently.  Research has shown that one of the best ways to accomplish this is through Math Talks!  During this course participants will learn about strategies designed to engage students in rich mathematical communication and encourage all students to extend their mathematical learning through multiple entry tasks, including your highest-level students. If you only try on new thing in you classroom to improve your instruction and your student's mathematical reasoning skills, it needs to be this!
