FULL LRE Teaching Tough TEKS 8th Grade (JULY 7-10, 2020)

This session supports Social Studies teachers grades 6-8 via an online platform.

Important Session Information:

**Please note the session dates of July 7-10** Participants MUST be online 10:00-11:30 a.m. EACH DAY** In this multi-day institute, the Law-Related Education (LRE) team identifies TEKS that are challenging to American History students. Working with scholars and consultants, participants will learn and receive valuable methods and resources. Content presentations are reinforced with practical activities which will be made available to participants. This institute is designed to target low performing 8th grade TEKS and to complement existing curriculum. This session will count as 12 hrs. of GT update credit. Participants will need to be online 10:00 - 11:30 a.m. on July 7-10, with the remainder of work being self-paced. Participants MUST register with Region 9 AS WELL AS at texaslre.org to be enrolled in the course.

There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
