FULL ONLINE Live Webinar - LRE: Book It! Using Children's Literature to Teach Law and Citizenship for Grades K-5 (July 16, 2020)
Share
The virtual LRE training will model best practices in both online instruction as wel as face-t0-face instruction. Knowing that you cannot sit in front of a screen for a full day, LRE is dividing each of their trainings into modules.
Important Session Information:
Children's literature offers a great avenue through which to teach students to be good citizens. Developing the core values of justice, respect for authority, truth, equality, and conflict resolution is integral to the social studies experience. Teachers in this workshop will participate in TEKS correlated teaching activities based on children's literature which require critical thinking, problem solving, and creativity. The books and complimentary activities link social studies with reading, language arts, and other content areas. Participants registering for this session should plan on being available for live sessions from 9:00-10:30 am and 1:30-3:00 pm on July 16,2020. You will receive a total of 6 hours of GT credit when completing all of the modules. The schedule for this training will be: Pre-Module Activity, Content and Pedagogy Live Session, Post Activity, Curated Resources. Please register now at www.texaslre.org to access this course.
