Information:
ZOOM-7/29/2020, 9:00am-12:00pm Join Dr. Dodge from MSU as she shares resources that will enable teachers to easily integrate exciting satellite imagery, image-based animations, and supporting videos into their curriculum. Teachers will preview learning activities designed to introduce students to satellite imagery from the perspective of scale and resolution. These activities use imagery from Texas’ State Parks to demonstrate change over time as well as landform identification. The workshop will include specific topics including ecosystems, wildfires, succession, weather and climate, seasons, landforms, natural hazards, erosion and deposition, plate tectonics, earthquakes, volcanoes, glaciers, water resources, oceanography, agriculture, and pollution. Imagery, animation and video resources from NASA, the U.S. Geological Survey, and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and the U.S. Forest Service will form the foundation for a portfolio of teaching resources.
