The Power of the Positive Role Model and Co-Regulation (Face to Face & ZOOM)
Share
Have you ever had a student lost their cool and continue to escalate only to make the situation worse? As educators, we carry many roles and responsibilities such as being a positive role model and support for all kids. But, sometimes, educators face challenging behaviors and situations that make this tough. This session will focus on self-efficacy, the sense of belonging, relationships, empathy and tools to be an effective role model even when you mess up in these tough times. This session will also help you understand what causes kids to get upset quickly and how to teach self-awareness before an escalated behavior occurs. In addition, participants will explore de-escalation techniques that support co-regulation to calm the student, the adult, and the situation down to a productive level.
