Session Detail

Special Ed MOE(Maintenance of Effort) P.M.

IDEA-B LEA Maintenance of Effort (MOE) is an annual requirement by the Texas Education Agency.  This is one of the fiscal compliance requirements governing the expenditure of federal funds on students with disabilities.

Important Session Information:

Maintenance of Effort is a federal requirement for utilizing federal special education funds. You must 'maintain' your state and local spending effort from year-to-year. This is a work session where we will look at your most recent Final Compliance Report and determine what you must spend before you close your books in order to remain in compliance AND in order to manage the amount the district must spend. Bring your laptop and any reports you want to use, and we will assist you in determining best next steps to prevent any surprises in your preliminary compliance report and to keep you from falling victim to any potential funding cliff.
