Everybody Started Out Small: Engaging Young Learners through the Arts (FULL DAY)




All sessions will be geared toward educators and administrators of early learners.  A wide variety of topics will be covered.

Important Session Information:


In this full day workshop, participants will explore using music, movement, and storytelling to build literacy, community, and SEL skills in their students. We will learn the fundamentals of singing effectively with children, we will add to the repertoire of age appropriate and curricular focused songs, and we will explore how storytelling skills can enhance learning and build a foundation for reading. The workshop will be very participatory and hands-on, as attendees will sing, move, share and reflect on their own educational practices. In addition, the latter part of the workshop will be devoted to exploring the essential role of teachers of young children. We will acknowledge the challenges and celebrate the joys of the day to day work.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
