STEMulating Design Challenges in High School Science (Grades 9-12) - FREE BOOK!




Secondary science sessions will focus on implementation of the Science TEKS through labs, activities, and various research based strategies.

Important Session Information:


Experience an inquiry-based, interdisciplinary approach to learning, where students apply content knowledge and use critical thinking to solve open-ended, real-world problems. You will participate in the engineering design process as a student and produce prototypes that meet the given criteria. You will have the opportunity to reflect on the challenges of facilitating the process in your own classroom and prepare to introduce it to your students. This will count as a 6-hour G/T update credit. Each participant will receive a FREE copy of "STEMulating Design Challenges in Science Grades 9-12," which includes 12 TEKS-aligned design challenges, teacher guides, student-facing pages, and Career Connections relevant to each challenge.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
