Understanding What You are Teaching - Breaking Down the Beast of an IFD
Share
Reading and understanding the Instructional Focus Document can be a BEAST!
Important Session Information:
Reading and understanding the Instructional Focus Document can be a BEAST! It is a big undertaking every time a new unit starts and trying to understand all of the IFD elements, what is required to be taught, what level of rigor the TEKS need, and how to properly assess the skills to determine student mastery. During this training, we will work through walking step by step on breaking down the IFD, chunking that beast into digestible sections for complete teachable understandings, incorporating implementation strategies and resources, and finally building checkpoints and assessments to ensure mastery of skills within the IFD. Teachers will leave with the first unit IFD of their year completely broken down, plans mapped out, assessments for the unit mapped out, resources and implementations mapped out, and ready to go!
