Do you have pre-verbal or limited verbal communicators in your classroom or on your caseload? Are you unsure how to include them in meaningful participation during your group or solo read-alouds? Federal law states that we, as special educators, must provide students with special education needs:
1. Access to the general education curriculum
2. A way to participate in their general education curriculum. (Even if this means modified)
If you have ever been stumped about how to provide quality access and participation opportunities to your limited verbal students, this course will help you outline how to use adapted books and Core vocabulary to encourage both of these mandates.
