Decisions, Decisions: Is It a Speech-Language Impairment or a Specific Learning Disability in Listening Comprehension/Oral Expression (A.M.)




Special Education Evaluation Sessions are designed to provide professional development opportunities to evaluation staff such as Diagnosticians, LSSPs, and Speech Personnel.

Important Session Information:


IEP teams are often face with a conundrum in deciding between a Speech Language Impairment or an SLD in Listening Comprehension/Oral Expression. This session will provide a platform for understanding the scope of language and its importance to academic success. Participants will review a variety of formal assessment measures, as well as learn about the redundancy in testing between IEP team members. Participants will leave with explicit interventions and accommodations for these students, as well as other resources that can be implemented in the classroom tomorrow. TSHA credit pending.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
