SMU Cox: Teaching Free Enterprise (F2F) (6-12 Social Studies)




This session supports Social Studies teachers grades 6-12.

***Lunch Provided*** SMU Cox Bridwell Institute presents 4 topics: Topic 1: GAME THEORY [How can games demonstrate the principles of economics to learners? Be prepared to experience how your students’ attention will be captured with this module that delivers concepts in a unique and engaging approach.] Topic 2: INTERNATIONAL MONETARY SYSTEM [This topic will inspire students to trust liquidity in fluctuating markets and see how wealth is created by embracing free enterprise economic practices.] Topic 3: MARKETS & GOVERNMENTS [This topic uses the tools of economics to make sense of political activity. Students compare and contrast markets and governments to better understand the economics and choices of the political realm.] Topic 4: POLITICAL PROCESS [This unit explores the the interactions between voters, elected officials and bureaucrats.]
