Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS)

Texas Principal Evaluation and Support System (T-PESS) is the Commissioner of Education's recommended principal appraisal system. This one day training is required for any district level administrator who will appraise principals using the TPESS model and will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to conduct the TPESS appraisal.

The rubric that corresponds with TPESS was updated in 2020-21 school year. An additional rubric was added for assistant principals. Although certification is not required for campus principals, this training will prepare them to use the TPESS Assistant Principal rubric to evaluate APs.

Important Session Information:

Beginning in the 2021-2022 school year, the updated rubric will become the only Commissioner recommended principal evaluation instrument and the original rubric will no longer be available for use. Upon completion of this training, participants will receive their T-PESS appraiser certification. There is a $125 certification fee for principal appraiser certification.

There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
