Instructional Routines for Foundational Reading Skills (1st - 3rd Grade) (9 hour Credit)




Participates will be provided instructional routines and materials for designing foundational reading skills lessons. The routines are designed for students in first grade who are learning to read and students in first, second, and third grades who need additional instructional support. 

Important Session Information:


In this session, participants will learn how to use and receive a Foundational Reading Set created by Inclusion In Texas to use with their students. The routines are designed for students in first - third grade. This lesson set includes routines and enough materials for the entire school year including the top 500 sight words, decodable words, image cards for phonological awareness, sound-spellings ordered by frequency, and sound-spelling cards for the most common phonograms. This session is in 2 parts. The first 6 hours of credit will be received during the face-to-face session on July 21, 2022. The remaining 3 hours will be received during the fall semester. After participants complete the 6-hour face-to-face training session, 3 hours of coaching and support will be provided to each participant at their campus during the implementation with students of the Foundation Reading Set tools.
