Differentiating for Students with Significant Disabilities: Lesson Plans that Work!

TX CAN has created learning materials to support effective and rigorous instruction for students with complex access needs. These courses will be presented in a variety of different formats to support professional development needs.

Important Session Information:

In this session, participants will learn how to differentiate instruction in a way that connects to enrolled grade level standards while supporting students with complex access needs through aligned prerequisite skills. Participants will work through better understanding the TEKS and how to use that information to write detailed lesson plans. They will learn how to use stations and rotations to support differentiation and see examples of simple and effective ways to adjust classroom activities to meet the needs of students. Finally, participants will learn about adjusting levels of support to meet student needs and incorporating response modes so students can show what they know. This training comes with plenty of templates and guides to make applying learned skills easier with breakout sessions to practice through the training. This session is appropriate for new and experienced teachers at the elementary, middle or high school setting.
