Applied Second Language Acquisition and Cultural Factors




This session is a component of the old ESL Academy or a good refresher for current ESL certified teachers. The ESL Academy is a training for teachers that are interested in becoming ESL Certified.

Important Session Information:


Participants will address theories of language development and stages of second language acquisition as well as cultural factors that impact learning and building language proficiency with emergent bilingual students. Note: This session is primarily content Language Acquisition Theory, Stages of Language Development and Cultural Factors (previous Day 1). Participants on a bilingual exception or ESL waiver for 2021-2022 must pay the registration fee of $125. In order to be fully knowledgeable for the ESL Supplemental 154 Exam, it is recommended to participate in the following sessions: *Applied Second Language Acquisition and Cultural Factors *Foundations of Instructional Best Practice for English Learner Success *Prep for the TExES #154 Supplemental.
