Foundations of Instructional Best Practice for English Learner Success

This session is a component of the old ESL Academy or a good refresher for current ESL certified teachers. The ESL Academy is a training for teachers that are interested in becoming ESL Certified.
Important Session Information:
Participants will review the laws which shape bilingual education in Texas and learn how to make linguistic accommodations according to students’ language proficiency levels. We will also explore instructional strategies and discuss how to increase language skills across all core areas. Note: This session is a content hybrid of Best Practices for ELL Instruction and Bilingual & ESL Law (previous Days 2 and 3). In order to be fully knowledgeable for the ESL Supplemental 154 Exam, it is recommended to participate in the following sessions: *Applied Second Language Acquisition and Cultural Factors *Foundations of Instructional Best Practice for English Learner Success *Prep for the TExES #154 Supplemental
