Shifting the Adult Mindset About Student Behavior: Understanding the Brain, Communication, and Why Behaviors Happen




An academy to support first year teachers as they navigate the challenges of the first year in the classroom as an instructional leader.

Important Session Information:


As educators, we carry many roles and responsibilities. One of the main tasks is to be a positive role model and support for all kids. But, sometimes, educators face challenging behaviors and situations, which makes building a positive relationship tough. In this interactive session, we will focus on the basics of behavior, why it occurs and what we can do to support all students while building a positive rapport. There will be a focus on how the brain works and controls behavior and learning. We will also go through tier-one instructional and classroom management strategies and tier-two and three interventions. ***While this session is perfect for first-year teachers, it is open to any teacher regardless of years of experience.
