An Overview of Kelly Mahler's The Interoception Curriculum: A Step-By-Step Framework for Developing Mindful Self-Regulation

Occupational Therapist, Kelly Mahler, has developed an evidence-based curriculum that features 25 lessons that use the latest information about interoception, the emotional highway between our body and brain, to teach self-regulation skills in a developmental progression from start to finish.  This session will overview the step-by-step framework to connecting body and emotion to more effective emotional and regulatory action.

Important Session Information:

“Intero-WHAT?” you say! Interception is simply the sense of the internal state of the body. Sometimes we’re aware of it; sometimes we’re not; and still other times we’re aware of it but don’t know what to think or feel or how to respond. Kelly Mahler’s curriculum defines how this ‘eighth’ sense helps us to identify and then manage how we feel by taking appropriate action. Come learn the basics of interoception, how to assess body states, and utilize strategies to facilitate optimal self-regulation via a deep-dive through the curriculum.
