Organizing Small Group Instruction While Incorporating Literacy Stations (K-5)

To help students progress as readers, they need personal attention from their teacher and a connection with their peers. Small groups and literacy stations offer both!

Important Session Information:

When you work with a small group of students at a time, you provide a safe, trusting environment that encourages them to challenge themselves. In this session, we will focus on tailoring the small group experience to literacy instruction, such as: assessing student skills and needs, organizing groups based on the data, and differentiating instruction to give every reader a pathway to success. Incorporating literacy stations during the small group instruction time will engage the rest of your class in meaningful work for students to have the opportunity to practice what they are learning from the instruction with hands-on resources.
