Complex Access Needs Book Study: Your Students, My Students, Our Students - Rethinking Equitable & Inclusive Classrooms




TX CAN has created learning materials to support effective and rigorous instruction for students with complex access needs. These courses will be presented in a variety of different formats to support professional development needs.

Important Session Information:


“Your Students, My Students, Our Students” explores the hard truths of current special education practice and outlines five essential disruptions to the status quo. This text will give teachers of students with significant cognitive disabilities strategies to nurture the belief, alongside their general education peers, that every student belongs to ALL of us and deserves a spectrum of learning experiences through general curriculum access. > > > The structure of this learning opportunity is 1) independent book reading from June 5th through June 22nd and 2) in-person discussion of its major premises and your take-aways on June 23rd from 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. > > > You will need to read the book in its entirety and attend the in-person discussion to obtain credit for this session. Partial credit is not available.
