Decoding and the Struggling Reader - Grades 2-12




This training presented by Really Great Reading's Implementation Specialist, Shari Zimmer, is designed for classroom teachers, reading specialists, and reading interventionists working in elementary grades, middle and high schools.

Important Session Information:


The evidence is clear; an overwhelming number of peer reviewed documents have linked strong decoding to fluent and accurate reading. Too many students are failing to acquire the skills they need to become efficient and effective readers. Participants will leave with strategies to help your struggling readers practice what good readers do naturally, which is pay attention to every word, read with a high rate of accuracy, and use strategies for attacking unfamiliar, complex content area and multi-syllable words. ***The minumum number of participants required for this session is 50. This training is a complimentary session from the presenter and she will be unable to travel to Region 9 ESC unless we have the minimum number required. Thanks so much!
