First Time Flippers: Visuals Edition (AM)




All sessions will be geared toward educators and administrators of early learners.  A wide variety of topics will be covered.

Important Session Information:


When working with all students, visual cues are a more powerful tool than verbal cues. In fact, did you know that the brain processes visuals 60,000 times faster than words? This is also true for students with special educational needs such as Autism. This session will outline the top three visual tools for maximizing comprehension and instructional control in the classroom by outlining the why and how of visual schedules, communication boards, and behavior support cards. You will learn when to use these tools so that you know exactly which tool is needed to get the job done. Join us while we help you organize your toolbox by taking a deep dive into the purpose, benefits, and opportunity for behavior change when these three visuals are used appropriately.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
