'It's All About the U': How Unified Sports and inclusion has transformed the culture of Burkburnett ISD (Presented by Burkburnett Staff)




This session is designed to provide school staff with strategies and interventions to use in all school settings to promote an inclusive school culture. 

Important Session Information:


This session will be presented by Burkburnett ISD staff. One of the best ways to improve school culture is through inclusion. Learn how the implementation of the Special Olympics Unified Sports program has positively affected the way students interact with each other and helped create lasting relationships. In this session, you will experience Unified Sports from the perspective of Gen Ed teacher, SPED teacher, administrator, coach, and parent. You will also be presented with strategies and activities that allow ALL students to be involved. At the conclusion of this session, you will be equipped with a plan to take Unified back to your campus or district.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
