Fingerprinting and Service Records

Important Session Information:


Conducting background checks for new employees, substitutes and contractors is a process that requires constant attention and oversight. This session will review rules and statutes governing the fingerprinting process, the TEA upload process, and the importance of reviewing fingerprinting results and maintaining clearinghouse subscriptions with DPS. Maintaining service records and determining creditable service can be challenging. The Commissioner's Rules on Creditable Service dictates how to determine an individual's years of experience. This session will provide guidance on evaluating an individual's creditable service and review best practices for service record maintenance. OUT OF REGION PARTICIPANTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO PAY A $250 FEE.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
