Session
Information:
Join us as we learn tips and strategies, such as adding and subtracting mixed numbers with different denominators and then reducing answers without paper and pencil, that apply to all students, including those with visual impairments, with presenter Jim Franklin.
Jim Franklin is a special education teacher from Elm Street Elementary in Rome, GA, who invented a number line to help students round numbers up to 10,000,000.
Jim will demonstrate the math tools he has invented to help students master math skills such as fractions, decimals, money, elapsed time, weight, and capacity.
Participants will also learn about his innovative STEM activities, such as a nationally recognized glow-in-the-dark indoor miniature golf course, "Solar City," student-run businesses, and many other standards-based and life skills projects.
