Including Students with Significant Physical and Cognitive Impairments in PE




This active workshop will discuss and demonstrate how to involve all students in PE, especially students with significant physical and cognitive impairments. Teachers will learn and play many fun, easy, and quick physical games and activities they will be able to play with their students.  This workshop will examine  how to modify and adapt activities and equipment to involve all students regardless of the student’s disabilities. Considerations will also be discussed on positioning of students and how hand under hand activities benefits students.   Specific assessments will be discussed and examined as well as  how to write IEPS to help build student success for students with significant physical and cognitive impairments.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
