Share
Participants in these sessions will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges presented by civic engagement and media access in today's climate. Information provided will be useful and applicable across grade levels and content areas. If we want our students to be responsible media-users in the future, we must prepare them today.
Important Session Information:
Join us for a practical and enriching professional development session tailored for 6-12 educators in Social Studies, ELAR, CTE, Public Speaking, and Journalism. We'll dive into the real challenges of media literacy in today's world and share hands-on strategies and tools inspired by Jeffrey Wilhelm’s book “Fighting Fake News”. This session is all about giving you practical methods to help your students sift through information online, spot what's credible, and build solid media literacy skills that they'll actually use in the 21st century. By the end of the session, participants will leave with a renewed sense of confidence and a robust toolkit to help their students thrive in the digital age, ensuring they emerge as discerning and responsible digital citizens. *This session will offer GT credit.
