Texas Dyslexia Academy 5 (TDA 5): Screening for Dyslexia (9:00-12:00)




This state developed Academy is comprised of six training opportunities developed to assist school districts and charter schools regarding dyslexia and related disorders.

Important Session Information:


Texas Dyslexia Academy 5: Screening for Dyslexia focuses on the universal screening process for dyslexia and reading development. The objectives for this course are: Understand the importance of early screening; Understand the state screening requirements; Define universal screening for dyslexia and related disorders; Become familiar with guidelines for the administration of screening instruments; Explore the interpretation of screening results; Understand the Public Education Information Management System (PEIMS) requirements related to screening; and Understand best practices for ongoing progress monitoring. Please bring a copy of the current Dyslexia Handbook and a personal device with you to this training.

  • There will be a $250 per day fee for out-of-region or non Region 9 District participants. If coop membership is required, there will be a $125 per day fee for non-coop participants.
