CTE Counselor Training: Effective Advising for CTE - Ensuring Access for All Students

This training is geared toward elementary, middle, and high school counselors who seek to learn more about collaborating with their counterparts across grade levels to develop a plan to implement a comprehensive K-12 career advising program that provides all students with career exploration opportunities and supports student access to career and technical education.

Equip yourself with the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective and equitable advising for students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs. This professional development session is designed specifically for counselors who play a crucial role in guiding students through the complexities of CTE pathways. The focus of this training is on ensuring that all students, regardless of background or circumstances, have access to the full range of opportunities offered by CTE. Participants will explore best practices for advising students on selecting CTE programs that align with their interests, strengths, and career goals, while also addressing potential barriers to access. The session will cover strategies for promoting equity in CTE, including how to identify and support underrepresented student populations.
