Effective reunification is a critical component of any school emergency operations plan. The Standard Reunification Tabletop Exercise, provided by the Texas School Safety Center, offers school safety teams an opportunity to strengthen their preparedness and coordination for reunification following a crisis or emergency event.
During this training, participants will walk through a tabletop exercise designed to simulate real-world reunification challenges. Teams will practice applying the Standard Reunification Method (SRM), identify roles and responsibilities, test communication and logistics strategies, and evaluate their existing reunification plans.
Because reunification success depends on seamless teamwork and shared understanding, campus and district safety team members are strongly encouraged to attend together. Teams will leave with actionable insights, enhanced collaboration, and a clearer roadmap for implementing an effective, safe, and family-centered reunification process.
