Math Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) - NOCONA ISD
Share
In this professional development session, educators will explore and implement Research-Based Instructional Strategies (RBIS) tailored to the unique demands of mathematics instruction. Participants will engage in hands-on activities and discussions that center on evidence-based approaches proven to increase student understanding, engagement, and achievement in math classrooms.
Important Session Information:
This session is for NOCONA ISD. Math RBIS focuses on the key principals from the Science of Learning. From that base, we focus on four interconnected foundations of math instruction: depth and coherence of key concepts and procedures; conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and automaticity; explicit instruction for novice learners; and practice that supports mathematical independence. Through the RBIS, we can see how the Science of Learning connects both our big-picture instructional planning and our day-to-day classroom instruction.
