AFESC--DIVE Into Working with Students with Autism
This session will present information on the characteristics of autism spectrum disorder and give attendees practical strategies to use when working with children on the autism spectrum. The DIVE workshop will review research-based strategies including: Strategies to Decrease reliance on verbal prompting by increasing desired behaviors through use of positive reinforcement; Strategies to increase social Interactions through appropriate social skills programming; Strategies to use Visual Supports; and Strategies to address Emotional Regulation when working with students on the Autism Spectrum.
