CIC Computer Science Training in Arkansas



Through a grant secured through the ADE, a 4-day computer science professional development workshop experience will be facilitated by the Cyber Innovation Center’s NICERC. This four day event- Education Discovery Forum (EDF) will be held July 25-28, 2016 at EAST in Little Rock. Participants will receive dynamic, hands-on training in implementing innovative, project-driven, Computer Science curriculum, providing them with a greater understanding of the curriculum design process, projects, and opportunities for implementation. While there, participants will have opportunity to interact with NICERC subject matter experts and many authors of the curricula. Each school represented will receive 10 raspberry pi units for use in their classroom to serve up to 20 students per class. Breakfast and lunch will be provided. No travel, meal, or lodging expenses will be reimbursed and no stipends are associated with this event. Participants are expected to attend the entire training each day of the forum.

Important Session Information:


This training will be held at EAST Initiative, 6215 Ranch Drive, Little Rock, AR. This training is for computer science teachers in grades 9-12. This conference is free. Participants should be prepared to attend all of the training on each of the four days. Lunch will be provided.
