Priming the Brain to Learn - What does a 21st Century Educator Need to Know? Movement is the Core Common to Every Learner
How can teachers meet the needs of every learner? Significant data shows that intentional movement in the classroom can prime the brain for individual learning success. Come find answers and fun strategies in this highly interactive 6 hour Action Based Learning workshop that will summarize recent brain research that links movement to learning and shows how neuroscience translates into your classroom practice and routines with students. Have you ever considered why new and seasoned teachers get frustrated when their students are not learning the information? Is it inexperience, classroom discipline, poor preparation, frustration overload, or did they not attend the right workshop at a conference? Have you ever considered that the brain needs to be primed for learning before filling the basket with content knowledge? Does the information stick and stay in long term memory or leave after a few weeks or the test? This insightful 6 hour workshop will fill your toolbox with activities to start the new school year off on the right foot, or right brain. Be prepared to get out of your seat because learning starts on your feet. Wear comfortable shoes and clothing as we will be moving around and having a lot of fun together. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1c, 1d, 1e, 4 e, 3c and 3e.
