SE Empowering Writers - K-1 Writing



This workshop is geared for teachers of kindergarten and grade 1, language arts specialists, and administrators. Participants will learn how to: • examine the development stages of writing • explore the reagin-writing connection • use literature and informational text as a jumping off point for instruction • identity genre and purpose • recognize critical elements of narrative, informational, & opinion writing • teach age-appropriate summarization skills • share the power vivid elaboration • Introduce games for vocabulary development • recognize and build suspense • apply age-appropriate research skills Teacher Manual - Getting Ready to Write

The charge for this workshop is $100 per participant. This fee is non-refundable. If for some reason you are not able to attend you must get your principal to send someone in your place.
