SCSC - Overcoming Dyslexia - Online Book Study Initial Session



Participants including INTERVENTIONISTS will have the opportunity to join an online study of the text, Overcoming Dyslexia, written by Dr. Sally Shaywitz, co-director of the Yale Center for the Study of Learning and Attention and a leader in the research into how the brain works. During this initial three-hour face-to-face session participants will review the online book study format which will include eight weekly online discussion meetings and the completion of an online discussion guide for each section of the text. Those participating in the online book study will have the opportunity to earn in excess of 18 professional development hours. A copy of the text will be provided. Participants should bring an electronic device to the initial session. TESS components addressed for this workshop include: 1A, 4D, and 4E.

Important Session Information:


For member districts of the SCSC Professional Development Consortium the fee has been waived. All other participants including nurses and paraprofessionals will pay the listed fee. In the event that an individual cannot attend the session for which he/she registered, it is the individual’s responsibility to cancel using his/her escWorks shoebox. Cancellations may take place up to the day before the session(s). All "no-shows" will be invoiced the full price of the session(s) not attended. No credit will be awarded until the fee is paid.
